Going all out on Valentines Day

Standard

‘Don’t worry about it’…….

That’s what I told him…..

It was my reply to a question about coconut oil & its health properties….now before we go any further, let me explain myself………

I see many people (too many people in fact) sweating & worrying over what I consider to be the small stuff….

>Should I switch to coconut oil?

>Should I drink green tea?

>Should I only drink bottled water?

>Should I take supplements?

>Should I go gluten free?

The list goes on……………………..

Now whilst there’s an argument/health benefit to all of the above & all have their case & application for certain people, but only if (and it’s a big, huge ‘if’) lifestyle supports these choices…

So if you happen to be someone who is stressed out, not getting enough sleep, with a diet that lacks sufficient protein, you have no idea how many calories you consume, & you struggle to plan past your next meal, then I would suggest not sweating the small stuff, like whether to switch to coconut oil or not…..

There’s a lot more you can do that will give you FAR greater results & FAR greater change……

Nail the basics first, get consistent in your approach, then add in simple ‘finer details’ as you progress….

Not mastering the basics first but sweating over coconut oil (or other smaller details) is like ignoring your partner all year round, forgetting their birthday, but then going all out on Valentines Day!!

Trust me when I say you can make change with simple, realistic, & consistent steps.

As ever, if you need anything give me a shout

That’s all for today, until the next time,

Christmas Shopping -HELP!

Standard

Christmas Shopping……….

There I was…. wandering around the shop aimlessly

……..trying to find what I was looking for…

No joy……

I popped into town last week to get a gift for someone, but couldn’t find it anywhere in the shop!

I didn’t even know where to start……

So I asked the first shop assistant I saw….she didn’t know, but she suggested another girl may know……

Still no joy……

So girl 2, asked girl 3 &……….SUCCESS!

Hallelujah, a Christmas miracle!!

My point today is that you get where you want to be far quicker by simply asking the right person the right questions……

If you don’t know the answers (like girl 1 & girl 2), that’s ok, you just need to find somebody that does!

I could of spent/wasted far more of my time attempting to find what I was looking for and I may or may not have got there eventually but what’s the point when I can accelerate the results by getting advice & seeking the right person to help me?

This is EXACTLY the same with your health & fitness goals.

You are NOT expected to know all the answers, you just need to ask the right questions…

Does your ‘diet start again tomorrow’?

Standard

Does your ‘diet start again tomorrow’?

In your mind, have you been ‘bad’ or ‘fallen off the wagon’ this weekend?

Starting tomorrow, is this week going to be different?

> What changes are you going to make?

> Most importantly, what changes are you going to be able to stick to?

How is this week going to be TRULY different to any other week?

What action can you take to put yourself one step closer to achieving your goals?

Consider this, what is greater?

The pain of change?
OR
The pain of remaining the same?

What will happen if you don’t change?

Why not make this week truly different?

Trust me when I say you CAN change.

That’s all for today, until the next time.

A quick lesson from Scarlett Johansson………

Standard

Yep, I admit it, I’m a big kid at times…..

………….I had the pleasure of seeing a 3D IMAX screening of Avengers 2 last night, and it didn’t disappoint, visually epic…….

I won’t drop any spoilers today for any fellow fans out there….

But I wanted to share a quick message with you…

During one scene, Bruce Banner (the Hulks alter ego, before he goes green & kicks off, played by Mark Ruffalo) is confiding in Natasha Romanova’s character (played by Scarlet Johansson) about his concerns over his lack of control & how when he loses it as the Hulk he’s scared of what might happen…….and that he basically cannot allow himself get close to her…….he is ashamed and afraid of who he is…and is full of self doubt.

We then learn from Natasha that, due to her severe background (as a trained assassin), she has had to make some very tough, quite harrowing decisions along the way & isn’t at all at peace with herself….

After we hear her story, she turns to Bruce & says:

‘Bet you thought you where the only monster on this team’?

My point here is that we ALL have issues….

We ALL have demons….

We are ALL capable of being ‘monsters’…

Even the most outwardly ‘perfect’ or ‘beautiful’ person will have their own internal struggles, their own insecurities, & their own fights…………

So I want you to stop………

>Stop beating yourself up……

>Stop comparing yourself to others….

>Stop being so down on yourself…

>Stop telling yourself you are not good enough…….

>Stop self sabotaging……

>Stop being your own worst critic………

Get up & start believing in yourself….start accepting who you are and start taking action my friend……..

That’s all for today, until the next time

P.S – Scarlett Johansson….wow! Just had to get that out there!! Although I’m not feeling her recent ‘Miley Cyrus’ hair do…. but like I said…we all have issues……..
